Five questions worth asking your oncologist

  1. Has my tumor had full molecular sequencing, and can I have a copy of the report?
  2. Was MMR or MSI testing done, and if the stain was abnormal, was it confirmed with PCR or sequencing?
  3. Did the panel look for gene fusions, or only mutations?
  4. Have I had germline genetic testing? Roughly 1 in 9 appendix cancer patients carries an inherited cancer risk variant.
  5. Are there clinical trials open to me based on what my tumor has?
